      <image:caption>Brian Phillip Whalen’s debut collection, Semiotic Love [Stories], was named one of the Best Books of 2021 by Kirkus Reviews. His work can be found in The Southern Review, Creative Nonfiction, Lit Hub, Copper Nickel, Gulf Coast, The Pinch, North American Review, Poets.org. and elsewhere. Brian has a PhD from SUNY Albany and an MFA from Iowa State University. He teaches creative writing and literature at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, where he’s an Assistant Professor of English.
