Brian Phillip Whalen’s debut collection of fiction, Semiotic Love [Stories], is forthcoming in November 2020 (Awst Press). His work has appeared in The Southern Review, Creative Nonfiction, Poets.org, and elsewhere.
Brian teaches creative and first-year writing at the University of Alabama. He holds a PhD from SUNY-Albany and an MFA from Iowa State University. He served as “Special Features” Editor for Quarterly West, has taught creative writing workshops in public libraries, and was recently awarded a residency at the Vermont Studio Center.
